From todays Bangkok post: "THAI divides jet orders between Boeing, Airbus"
http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/aviation/39042/thai-divides-jet-orders-between-boeing-airbus
The article lead sounds a little negative but I think it made sense for TG. A330-300 is TG's workhorse and fits quite well with the regional route network. The A330 fleet operation is very profitable for TG. Using the 777-200ER on such routes is not going to achieve the same economy. Plus, the offer from Airbus is so good!
The 777-300ER is also a clear winner. No other aircrafts can beat it as a 747-400 replacement and that's exactly what TG needs.
