Hello all, I'm new to FlyerTalk and I had a question about a layover at ATL. I am flying LGA-ATL-SJD and my flight from LGA gets in at 8:31 on a Saturday morning and the flight to SJD leaves at 9:40.
Normally an 1 hr + connection does not worry me but since the second leg is an international flight, I am somewhat concerned as I have never done this type of connection.
For those that know ATL well, is this enough time? Thanks in advance!

That should be enough time to connect in ATL especially on a Saturday morning. The flight to SJD will probably leave out of E concourse since it in international. Other than a few minutes more on the train out to the E concourse, the fact that it is international flight won't really affect how long it takes to connect since there is no immigration to go though on intl departures in the US.
I would think that you'll be ok.
ATL is big; but it's not the worst airport.
How's the weather on Saturday mornings at LGA. In the southeast at this time of year, thunderstorms are the most likely annoyance. They are more likely to pop up in the afternoon. I always remember that when making travel plans this time of year.
Just don't dawdle...get off the plane and go find the next gate.:)
If you miss your flight to SJD, you can always stay in beautiful Atlanta; where at this moment it's 94 degrees with only 48% humidity:rolleyes:, and thundering.
Be safe in MX.:)

Morning flights have a much better chance of on-time departures and arrivals. I agree that you should have enough time.

I had a 46 minute international connection in Atlanta last month and still had time between flights to buy a few euros and a bottled water. We even walked between concourse C and E instead of taking the train. Don't sweat it.
