Going LAX-BKK with a connection time of 12 hours for BKK-HYD. Same on return.
I've booked myself a day room at one of the transit hotels.
My question is when I check in at LAX can I request my bags only go so far as BKK, and then re checkin the bags when I come back to the airport. If so, how would that work, assuming they've already given me a boarding card at lax?

Hi M Singh, it is no great problem, but there maybe another way of dealing with it, which you should look at, but without knowing what and where you need your bags, I am unable to comment. At LAX, you are going to tell the checkin, you need the bags in BKK, and they will tag them there, more than likely issue you with your BPs then. You will have to exit immigration then collect your bags at baggage control. It is a matter of re checing in with your baggage. If you exit @ BKK, there will be a charge levied when you check back in called a departure tax which you will need Thai baht to pay.

Sorry, I should have provided the full details:
June 23
LAX-BKK arriving 06:40
BKK-HYD departing 20:50
July 7
HYD-BKK Arriving 05:00 on July 8
BKK-LAX Departing 19:30
So I"m assuming even if I have my boarding pass for the continuing flight to HYD, and pick up my luggage at BKK, I should have no problems rechecking in? And where would I pay the departure tax?
thanks for your help.
