I've reserved a car for me and three mates when we fly into Orlando on the 17th of September.
It's their first time in the US and I'm hoping to get a decent car to add to the experience lol :)
I've got a full-size with a free upgrade to premium 4 door? What types of car should I expect?
Thanks :)

Budget and Avis share a similar fleet (especially at the usual compact-midsize-fullsize levels). There is a recently updated fleet listing over at the Avis forum:

While I don't know your age, you sound like you're a twenty something like me, and I personally would never reserve a premium car. There's a chance you could receive a Dodge Charger, but I'd bet more likely to get a 'boat' like the Ford Crown Victoria, Buick, or an Avalon, especially in Florida.
If you booked through budget.com (i.e. it's refundable), I would check the rates as it gets closer to September, especially 2-4 business days before your trip. You can often get a decent deal. Just last week I was in MCO (The reason I opened this thread), and several days beforehand I double-checked with Avis, and the price for an intermediate SUV was actually cheaper than a full-size car by about $4-5/day, and a standard SUV was slightly pricier than a full-size. Changed my reservation to the intermediate SUV, and ended up with a fairly loaded Ford Escape with leather, Satellite Radio, etc.

Thanks for the reply and good guess, I'm 25 :)
I've booked it through floridacarhire.net on a work mates recommendation and I cannot cancel without losing my money :(
It looks to me that it will be a Grand Marquis which looks like a massive "boat" car like you described.
Wonder if I could skip the free upgrade and go for a Ford Taurus or something instead? A charger would be awesome however I'm not holding out hope for one lol :D

If you get a Grand Marquis or similar 'boat', just ask if they have any full-size cars available.
If you arrive after 11PM, the Fastrack is closed so be prepared for VERY long lines at the counter in MCO - each agent (both of them) take about 15 min. with each customer. :td:

Hi all,
we've made a reservation for a Standard SUV (SFAR, Group W) with Budget in Orlando.
We will arrive at 7 pm.
Any hints for Budget in Orlando?
Which cars can be selected as Standard SUV?
Many thanks

Sign up for Fastbreak. You won't regret it. The lines at 7 pm can be obscene at the counter. My flight arrived at 7:10 pm and the line at 7:45ish was at least 30 deep. Fastbreak, outside to the hut and you're on the road in less than 5 minutes.
