Many many thanks to the wonderful staff at the HI Bangkok, for making the best of my daughter's first stay to Thailand.
Due to the recent troubles in Bangkok, my daughter skipped staying there on the outbound leg, going direct to the HI Phuket, HI resort Phi Phi and on to Ao nang, before going back to bangkok to stay at the Conrad. Because of no availability for the 3rd night, she moved to the HI PloenChit.
In all honestly, she was pleased to move, as the staff at the Conrad made her and her partner feel MOST uncomfortable, not fitting the executive profile of the typical Conrad guest. She was blatanlty lied to, and shunned by the staff, until they were advised that she was a guest on the executive floor, "paid for" by her father a Diamond HHonors member, but by then, the damage was done.
The staff at the HI on the other hand were superb, making her feel genuinely welcome, and a valued guest, with nothing being too much trouble, anywhere in the hotel.
Give yourselves a slap on the back, HI Bangkok, your attitude FAR outshines that of the Conrad !
