bmi diamond club - Seats to Accra, Ghana

Just called BMI to make a reservation from LHR to ACC ( Accra , Ghana)
Spoke to a chap called Brian and was told to hold and he came back to say miles cannot be redeemed on this star alliance route - flown by Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines. Yet a few weeks ago I got a girl and there was no problem in getting business class seats. Then I got the supervisoir SRI OM and got the same reply.

Am I going mad? or BMI i India have gone completely off their head? No! Bmi just confirmed that not all routes are avaliable for redemption. No seats available using miles and miles plus cash to Accra. The route is flown by Lufthansa, Brussels Airline and Egypt Air, yet its not available on any carrier!

There are also other routes too not available to on star alliance carriers! Is this true?

Bmi HQ have alos adived me the the route is not available! It is on their list of destinations.

Thnaks for the help! How odd! One would expect redemption possible on all star alliance routes. I guess Lufthas can charge a fortunte for a 6 1/2 hour filght over £700plus for a return leg so why give seats to frequent flyers. So I am opting to go economy on BA at £545 or Virgin and £518!. So much for star alliance loyalty!

Just send a message to Joana and she will sort it out for you. Unfortunately, that has been the only way that I have been able to book Accra redemptions. Be cautioned that she may take a few days to reply as her workload is usually pretty heavy - but she has always come through for me.

If you are in an absolute rush to get things done, call PTS at Donington and explain that you need to get approval from Joana at Diamond Club to do the booking. They will get in touch with her, obtain the approvals and set things up for you. Don't do this though unless you have a legitimate rush (like the 7-day advance ticketing deadline).
