[i]OTTAWA (Reuters) - WestJet Airlines Ltd (WJA.TO: Quote), Canada's second largest carrier, said on Thursday that it flew fuller planes in May, reflecting "solid demand" for both domestic and sun destination travel.
Shares of the no-frills airline rose after it reported a bigger load factor and 13.4 percent boost in capacity, or available seat miles. Virtually all of the increase went to its southern markets. WestJet recently introduced year-round service to a number of vacation spots in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
