I just posted regarding BOS, but my routing may have to come back through PHL. Same question, though:

I may have an upcoming flight that arrives after midnight and leaves before 6am. If I tried to get a hotel, I would only get at most 2 hours of sleep if I was lucky.

Can I stay inside security and crash on a chair or a row of chairs?

This question popped up a couple months ago in the Mid-Atlantic forum (Is PHL a 24 Hour Airport? (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mid-atlantic/1056224-phl-24-hour-airport.html)) There was no definitive answer but I'm sticking with my response of "no, you'll probably get kicked out". You're probably free to join the homeless and other connecting passengers landside. :)

Depending on your flight schedules, if you stayed at the airport Marriott (which is connected to terminal B and you can walk to it), you might actually get 3 hours of sleep.

I don't know if the rules are different everywhere but I've done it many times at many airports.

As long as you stay inside the sterile area of the terminal, no one will bother you or kick you out. If you do exit secuity, you will not be allowed back in until the checkpoints re-open for passengers at around 4am.
I work at PHL, let me know if you have any other questions and/or when you'll be here, if I'm working, maybe we'll meet up.

We're going to move this to the Regional Forum which covers the PHL area.

Thanks for the offer. I just booked my flight last night, but I'll wind up staying in BOS. I got more miles routing it that way, so it was my first choice when I was looking to book. I just wasn't sure what day I was going to travel.
