Have meeting pencilled in for next month, on a Monday (argh) - don't really want to lose the weekend so looking at 895 on the Sunday night. How painful is it ? And how is arrival at DME ? Is it quicker getting a car into town (to freshen up at the hotel) rather than train/metro ?

I'm booked on the 895 on Sun 27 June.

Assuming you're not on the same flight, you can let me know how it is if you take it.

I am not looking forward to the 0535 arrival, particularly as I'm more than likely not going to be able to check in at the hotel.

0535 in DME will still feel like 0235 for you :( Best case scenario is that you arrive at hotel at 0700, check-in for free and spend another 2 hours in the room, before you have to go to office/work.

In such occasions I still think it's better to "sacrifice" Sunday, get into Moscow on Sunday evening and be fully able to work on Monday.

My Russian friends take the overnighters quite often and go straight to work - not for me though - I'd give up my Sunday.

Getting through DME and into town by taxi that time of the morning should be relatively quick and painless.

;)

Kind of what I thought. Unfortunately I have a non-negotiable Sunday, so will resign myself to it.

Bods, you have PM.

It'll have to be a taxi at that time in the Morning - the Domodedovo express doesn't start till 7am. There are plenty of 'gypsy' taxis available if your feeling brave. 50 mins in to centre as the roads will be clear.

DME is generally OK after the overnight flights. I have waited in line up to 45 minutes at passport control at SVO, however (including new Terminal D).

Same as taking the overnight flight to TLV (BA/LY sadly no more BD...) which arrives around 05:30.

I hate it and try and avoid when I can, but if I must then I do take it, knowing I won't really sleep on the flight (don't sleep on flights at best of times and these flights are just too short) and going to be exhausted for the rest of the day...

However, for some reason, I manage to spend a normal day after leaving at 2am from BEY to CDG, arriving at 5:45am... In Economy...

I often travel on this flight. My advise travel business if you can. Take a light meal before the flight and get some sleep on the plane (if they don't forget to switch the lights off, as they often do). The toughest period is between 8 am and 12 pm; then your body gives up on you and you make it happily through the rest of the day. Until you crash at around 8-9 pm local.
