Other Hotel Programs - Six Countries, Seven Cities, Five Weeks

I'm headed to Asis and Africa for work. Two separate trips, one across the Pacific, the other across the Atlantic. Six countries, seven cities, 5 weeks on the road. All airlines miles on United/partners. However, I lack a strategy for maximizing my hotel stays. I belong to most programs, using mostly Hilton and Hyatt, but I find they reward stays, not nights. What is the best way to get the most out of this trip? Idealy I'd like some free nights in Paris at the end of the trip. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

If you are new to the program (Intercontinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, etc.) you can easily earn a free night or two after your first 2 or 3 stays using the promotions - register for new member bonuses, a second quarter Stay 2 Brands Get 10k Points, the current double miles promo, etc.
