Gaming Loyalty Programs - Best Way to Use Harrahs Reward Credits

I have about 10,000 credits which are supposedly worth $100. However, I play at a local casino, so I don't have room charges or pay for meals there.

Is that any other ways to use the points? I thought that I could convert the points to $100 freeplay, but they said I couldn't and that I could only get cash for 1/2 the amount ($50) which seems unfair.

I'd appreciate any tips.

Thanks

If you go to the Total Rewards desk at any HET casino, they have a booklet of gifts that can be redeemed for points. 10k points will get you a pretty nice small kitchen appliance or wallet. If you are Platinum or Diamond, you can get certain reduced price awards which are offered each month.

All of this is on the Harrah's web site.

For myself, I'd just do a nice dinner in the steakhouse.

I would recommend saving up your RC for those gifts online as well...

Gifts online and free plane tix out to vegas are usually the way to go. However, certain local Harrah's (Caesar's Windsor and Rincon for sure) will offer weeks or months throughout the year when you can convert your points to free play. Sometimes it's 100/1 sometimes its 200/1.

As a 7star, I use my points (300K+ is my normal balance) for huge family meals when I can't get them comped. When I have tons of extra pts, I grab the catalog and get gifts... Bowflex, SkyCadde, TV are all courtesy of Harrah's.

Oh, I use them for smokes, too. For some reason, no one can comp those (Vegas, SD, or Windsor)

In Atlantic City, until very recently, you could convert points to CASH at a 2:1 ratio at most of the Harrahs casinos there (every now and then it was 1:1), now the conversion is to "slot dollars"--which indirectly is CASH, unless you never plan on returning.:)
One's play at the Harrahs casinos in Las Vegas, counts toward their annual "gift" promo, you get to select gifts (displayed in one of the ballrooms), generally during a two week period beginning right around Thanksgiving--NO points are deducted from your reward credits. I just got a mailing that Diamond Tier members will get extra points (not just from play in LAS) toward the gift promo in LAS, it is on a tiered system, ie, 50,000 base points will get you an additional 50,000 toward the promo.

Just save them to use for a trip to another HET property, there has to be somewhere you would want to visit.

Weird - I've seen smokes comped in Vegas before. At Flamingo & PH (When it was Aladdin) - Haven't seen it in the past couple years though, maybe something changed.

No problem to get smokes comped if you're 7*, either from the cigarette girl or the gift shop.

I'm only Gold and I've gotten them comped in Vegas, but not in AC

Could be wrong, but it won't happen in AC

I wouldn't know about AC. I have a no-New-Jersey policy.

I definitely don't blame you. Only reason I go is because its a less-than-2-hr-commute for me.
