Budget - Budget FastBreak @ Las Vegas SUCKS!

Here are the main complaints I have with my rental from Las Vegas. I do want to stress that this was such an awful rental experience I have switched my next 3 rentals in Vegas to Hertz, to see if their service is better.

1. Las Vegas is classified as a FastBreak location, yet upon arrival you are sent to a booth that is used for both "FastBreak" and rental returns, and the line was twice as long as the regular line at the counter that I passed in the main building. This is very frustrating especially when you expect this process to be fast, hence the name FastBreak.
2. Once I got to speak to the counter rep, which took at least 15-20 minutes, the rep I spoke to was down right rude. I had been delayed in transit and my they did not have my paperwork for FastBreak ready, because in his word's, "Well why are you 3 hours late, show up on time next time?". I have never been spoken to as a customer this way before, and if I were ever to talk to one of my clients this way I would be fired!
3. The coupon code I used on my reservation was not honored on my rental and so the car that I was given was not in the right class.
4. The location of the car was not in the listed FastBreak area, rather was on the other side of the parking lot, with just added additional time and frustration to the experience.

I cannot say that I will never rent from Budget again, but I WILL NEVER rent from Budget in Las Vegas again, and I make several trips to Las Vegas on business every year.

Agreed, I was less than impressed as well.

Check the car over VERY carefully and note EVERY ding on the car. They seem to be especially picky about every little ding. And then when they want to cite something, you have to go into the terminal to discuss with them -- which can be a pain if you are tight on time for your flight.

I rented with them for 4x credits on Southwest, which is definately a big incentive. But, right now, 6 days after returning the car, I have not had any credits post to my Southwest account. Tried calling them. The main Budget group won't help you because LV is a licensee, not part of the main network. Tried calling the LV office. Very poor customer service. The ONLY agent that can help with FF credits is out. How is that for customer service? No cross training at all.

Not sure if it is worth it for 4x credits. Dollar always has 2x credits and things run much smoother there.

This is a consistent topic on FT. On the bright side, customer service is better now than it used to be if that means anything.

As a side note, for evening arrivals, the FastBreak booth closes at 11pm. If your reservation is booked prior to 11, the regular counter will let you skip waiting on line. Otherwise, enjoy the 30 minute wait for an agent.

June 16 -- an update. Budget corporate says my FF number is on the rental but that it can take up to 90 days to post the credits. I'm still concerned that because this was the Vegas office (a franchisee) this may not go through right.

Its a big hassle compared to getting 2x credits at Dollar and having them post quickly.
