In early August, I'll be arriving at BKK in J at 1:10 AM and leaving in F at 8:00 AM.
Both flights are on TG. The Royal Orchid Lounge is open from 5:00AM to 2:00AM and has slumber rooms. Any chance they'll let me stay there when the lounge is "closed"? (The Royal First Lounge hours are 5:00AM and 1:00AM, so I likely couldn't get there in time unless I arrive earlier.)
If not, what are my options? If I have to sit around for three hours, it's no big deal.

Hi tommyleo, if it's all one ticket, they will meet the Korean flight, and the buggy will take you to a E section for onward F paxs.

Hi. Thanks, but I'm not sure what you're referring to! I'm asking where I can stay at the airport between my flights. The time span is 1:10AM to 8:00AM, and the lounges are not officially open during that whole time.

BTW, I'm not on a Korean flight. I'm flying into BKK from HKG and departing from BKK to ZRH -- both on TG in F.
Ouch!!, first then, I will tell you you are on a 10 hour flight from HKG that flies via Korea, whereas the normal flight takes 2hrs 40minutes, so whoever booked your flights, doesn't have a clue or has a wicked sense of humour. Second point is if you are a First class passenger with Thai arriving late from Korea, they will pick you up and take you to a basic E lounge where there are about 4 chairs and refreshments set aside for F paxs. It is not obligatory

I didn't think TG had F on that intra-asia flight, only J. Ditto its other flights from HKG. You better check the details of your routing as I think BKKROP is correct on this flight going through Korea first. Very weird. Can't you change to a nonstop flight that gets you in early evening, and get a proper hotel room, decent dinner, and a good night's rest? Either the TG nonstop flight leaving at 14:10 or the next one after your original one at 18:45 would be better. In J. Or get on a different carrier for the first segment. And find a new travel agent.

Here's a Link to the Air-side Louis Tavern Transit Rooms/Hotel its Open 24 hours.
Or for Budget Travellers I understand that the Muslim Prayer Room is very quiet at night.

My apologies. I confused something.
OK, let me clarify because in my second post I entered the wrong info because I confused my returning flights with my departing flights. I'm flying ICN-BKK (TG657) in J and BKK-HKG (TG600) in F. When I saw your reply referring to a "Korean flight", I assumed you meant that I was on a Korean airline, not on a flight from Korea. Now everything you wrote makes sense. Keep in mind that my first flight is in J, my second is in F.

Haha!! Guess who the "travel agent" is? Me! This is a *A award booking and my final destination is HKG departing from PHL. Finding a routing from PHL (or even the NYC area) was very difficult, so I'm doing PHL-LAX-ICN-BKK-HKG on US, OZ, TG and TG -- all in F except for ICN-BKK.
Am I crazy? No, it's just that I've never flown in F outside of North America and I wanted to do something fun -- so I don't mind the extra segments at all. My return is HKG-BKK-ZHR-JFK on TG, TG, and LX -- all in F. For 120,000 miles, it'll be a good ride. For me, part of the fun of my trip to Macau will be experiencing the service and food in various F cabins (US F not included; been there, done that...) as well as the lounges (and BKK spa^) on the ground.

Might be worth your while to double check your HKG-BKK flight, it may all be in J.

It's Flight 601, which appears to have an F cabin.

You will have a lot of fun, tommyleo, and it will be a great experience. Hong Kong and Macau are go go go, 24 hours a day
I did it once
My first ever trip to Europe lasted 14 days and I was in a different city everyday, I had a ball.

You are not alone - we all love extra segments! Enjoy F, it is the best F you'll experience outside of Nth America! :D:D:D

No problem if it's just for leisure--and from your last post, it's clear you have a method to your madness. :D I just assumed you were on business and some corporate agent had booked you. (my personal past experiences on similar weird routings were from a corporate agent that tried to be clever by prolonging my flying agony and assuming I loved multiple airport tours) :p

Tommyleo.
Can I encourage you to add your Thailand lounge visits in the Thread started by me, especially if you are able to 'host' another FTer.

7 hours is quite a long transit time at BKK, which is not like Singapore Airport at all (that is - not a lot to do).
Attiving at 0110 there will be quite a few flights landing and departing - so there will certainly be people around - and some shopping. It's a long walk from one end of the airport to the other - so you could fill about an hour walking the length of the terminal and having a look at the shops, the statues and some of the phhotographs (they have a great photo of the King's anniversary (I think) where the royal families of 40 or so countries attended - it's a great shot and everyone i named and very interesting).
There is the basic lounge option that has been mentioned in other threads. And then I would be going to the F lounge at 0500 - and making an appointment for the Royal Spa which opens at 6. You could select the full body massage if you wanted (1 hour). Or you can get a combination of 2 x 1/2 hours (1 x foot massage and 1 x neck and shoulders).
They will come get you in the F lounge for your onward flight about 30 minutes prior to departure.
Otherwise - if you wanted - you could clear customs and have your bags about 1.30-2.00 - you could book a local hotel (about USD30-40) and get some shut-eye until 5.45 and make your way back to the airport then for a massage. you'll be escorted through immigration etc so it will be quick. (If you let your bags be through checked it would be even quicker on arrival and you could be at the hotel and in bed by 2).
The F lounge is ok - nicely furnished, but nothing that I would want to be waiting at the airport for an extended period of time to enjoy. Aside from the massage.
Hope this helps.

By the time you reach HKG you will be so tired that you won't be able to enjoy.
Two other options:
- Spend a full day (or more) in Bangkok. By August things should have quieted down.
- Get a direct ICN-HKG on OZ. Even Y award would be much better than your rountig in J/F.

I would also recommend this. I find Asiana to be far better than Thai in all classes of service.

Hi there!
I have 5 hour layover for my IST flight in BKK and I am trying to book the dayrooms. Unable to find their website or any contact tel number. Would appreciate any link or info on how to book from fellow FTs. Thanks:)

Thatīs exactly what I was looking for for an upcoming trip!
Has anyone stayed there and can recommend the hotel?
Any idea how much a standard room is for 6h?
