Germany - Munich Airport Questions

OK, I have only been to MUC a couple of times and will admit I do not pay alot of attention to my surroundings at times..
I am in Vienna now and am going to meet my wife in Munich on Saturday morning. She is coming in on ORD->MUC and is not very travel savvy and a little bit nervous about being there all by herself, finding me, etc.
I get in from Vienna on Lufthansa 5 minutes after she does. My plan is to get right over to where she'll be exiting customs and be (hopefully) waiting for her when she comes out. Is there any logistical concerns with this plan? Is there a really good meeting place near where she'll come out that will be easy for her to find if I am running behind?

I believe you'll be coming into T1 from your intra-EU flight and you're wife into T2. She will pass through customs, collect her luggage and then enter into the main portion of the terminal. It's very easy to navigate in my experience.
I don't see an issue, but a good meeting place could be the courtyard between the two terminals. I believe the courtyard for her would be strait ahead about 100 yards once she passes into the main terminal.

You didn't say which airline your wife is flying...but you are a UA 1K, and your wife is flying ORD-MUC. Is she flying UA or LH? If so, she is coming into Terminal 1. And so are you.
When she comes into Terminal 1, she will go up one flight of stairs and enter a corridor which leads directly to Immigration. After passing through Immigration, she needs to follow the signs for Arriving Passengers / Baggage Claim. This will bring her down 3 stories to Baggage Claim.
When you arrive from Vienna, you will just be dumped into the G Concourse in Termianl 1. You won't need to clear Immigration, becaue you are already in the Schengen zone. So, if you just follow the signs down to Baggage Claim, you will end up exactly where she does.
Unfortunately, I don't believe it would be possible for you to go up to the 3rd floor non-Schengen Immigration exit. I'm not positive that it's impossible, but I don't think the chances are good. If you can convince her to meet you at Baggage Claim, that would be the safest way to go.

Her flight is on United. Are you saying she will come into T1? From looking at the airport map/info I gathered T2. If we end up in the same baggage claim area that would work well.

Both of you will be at T2. If you want to meet her as soon as possible, it'd be the luggage claim area, but the hall is really large and it can be a problem for you to find each other without using your cell phones.
If you don't know the airport and are just looking for a foolproof meeting point, try Starbucks just outside going to the right the Arrivals door, or the beer bar (forgot its name) in front of it.

Posts 2-4 were wrong!!!!
All Star Alliance arrives in the Lufthansa Terminal which is Terminal 2!!!!
Meet at the Starbucks. Both of you follow the signs towards the exit, get your luggage and when you get out landside, make a right and you'll end up right in front of a tiny Starbucks. It can't be missed and everybody will know where it is as there is only one!

... and there´s a flower shop right next to it, so you can greet your wife with a nice bunch of flowers :-)

ohh, forget that one: on the left side, there is a Beate Uhse store, wich sells adult stuff, this might also be an option to buy a present :-))

As mentioned the baggage claim area is a very large area. Otherwise it shouldn't be a problem identifying the conveyor handling your wife's flight luggage and meet her there.
For her it might take some time to clear immigration, so the timing might be right then for both of you to arrive the same time at the baggage claim.
You could walk through customs together. If you have checked baggage, take care you walk on the side the customs officer is standing (if there won't be two of them). ;)
