Hi everyone,
I fly out of EWR and have been building Continental Status but I always seem to have to fly US Airways. I have to admit that I am no fan of either airline in terms of service but US is frequently 2/3rds less expensive.
I was wondering if any US Airways Elite flying out of EWR might help me with some of the positives about US Airways beyond the price?
My impression is that the terminal that US flys out of has neither a US Airways club nor a presidents club (I am a presidents club member) only an Admirals club, so if I wanted club access it would be through an Admirals club membership (since a plat AmEx won’t cut it if I am flying US Airways.)
Do US Airways elite actually get upgrades? Though I am CO elite I have never gotten one (I am only silver however) but I am told that they are very uncommon for CO Platinum as well out of EWR.
Is there a good mileage earning credit card for US Airways? There is a mastercard on their website that provides 10,000 preferred qualifying miles, 2 miles per dollar spent with US Airways and 1 per dollar otherwise. Are there any better cards around? Is this the one most of you use?
I would be grateful for any other comparisons between CO and US FFPs and suggestions from those with more experience than I have.
