Nordic Countries - SJ Stockholm Lounge - what's in there?

I booked a 1:a klass ticket on the X2000 this summer, which obviously gives me access to the SJ Lounge in Stockholm Central Station.

SJ's website is pretty vague on what amenities are in there. Is it worth spending an hour or two in there? Or will I be bored out of my mind?

I arrive on the Arlanda Express around 8am, then I plan on stowing my luggage in the lockers (armed with plenty of SEK20 notes :p). Then I'll probably walk down to Galma Stan, grab a bite to eat, then relax in the lounge until my train leaves at 12:15pm.

Not much perhaps…

Haven’t been there since this autumn (I live in Stockholm and I usually try to arrive the Central station no more then 10 minutes before departure) and then they had some light snacks, coffee, free wifi, etc.

My colleague who travels by train more frequently says it’s an ok place to relax and that they have good personal if you need any re-ticketing etc. Also he mentioned that you used to be able to leave your luggage in the lounge if having a stroll around but wasn’t sure that was still the case. Perhaps worth asking though.

I use the Lounge mainly to get some peace and quiet while waiting for my train. You can also get tea, coffee, juice and some cookies and crackers or fruit. They have a couple of magazines and newspapes as well.

I've used the SJ lounges in both Stockholm and Gothenburg.

It's of course nothing compared to the airline lounges, but you can have a cup of coffee and a cookie, read a newspaper or just relax in a quiet atmosphere.

If you have two hours to spare you can spend them in the lounge, however if you find better things to do with your time you won't miss that much.

Thanks, everyone.

If the weather is nice, I'll probably just walk around Gamla Stan until about 11:30. However, the lounge sounds like a nice place for refuge if the weather is bad.

Just found a trip report on airliners.net with some photos from the SJ lounge in Stockholm.

Good or bad weather I'd still go out and walk around. Stockholm C is convenient to many things worth seeing...City Hall, Gamla Stan, shopping at Sergels Torg.

Being from Stockholm I find this very amusing since the main business at Sergels Torg is drug dealing.

Maybe that's what he is shopping for? ;)

Belated thanks to jacob_m for the link.

That certainly still goes on around Sergels Torg but that is not the main business in the area. Most of the legitimate tourist shopping that goes on starts near or from the Sergels Torg area.

I should've paid more attention that it was only open on weekdays. :(
