Hey guys, I have some good news, you are all invited to the unveiling of the Badger at the Milwaukee hangar! If you would like to join the other attendees and I, please read the message below and follow the instructions.

Thank You

Please join us for an evening exploring the new Frontier.

Frontier Airlines, that is.

Frontier Airlines and Midwest Airlines are now one under the Frontier brand, offering an expanded route network, enhanced schedules and better connectivity. And a commitment to deliver a truly different and better flying experience by providing the best care in the air.

Find out what’s already been done to integrate our two airlines what’s in store for the future. And be among the first to get an up-close look at an aircraft bearing Frontier’s newest “spokesanimal,” a feisty badger to honor Midwest’s Wisconsin roots.

We look forward to reconnecting with you as we begin this exciting new chapter in our history.

Anybody interested and available? I'm booked for a late afternoon meeting onThursday but can probably re-work things to be there. Plus the 4:30-7:00pm segment being "open house", it sounds perfectly workable to come later than 4:30pm.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend.

You and 'Hoss will have to represent FlyerTalk and report anything of interest back to the rest of us.

Thanks for the invitation, MA. :)

Depends on how good the food is! No plans to down all the wine, though? Might make for a more interesting event...

What, no positive-space non-rev travel for FT moderators??

Sounds to me like a reason to start MKE-PDX nonstop service!

What, no positive-space non-rev travel for FT moderators??Heh. That's about as usual as a double op up on UA. :(

Sounds to me like a reason to start MKE-PDX nonstop service!I'd happily trade F9/YX service PDX-DEN-MKE over UA PDX-ORD-MKE any day of the week. :)

I would have loved to have given you a buddy pass but DEN-MKE are our fullest flights and I don't think you would have made it.

The event was pleasant and low-key, and for me one of the highlights was getting to walk all around an E190. Nice looking craft, and how often do you get to stand the wheel well of a big jet? At least without being a stow-away fleeing a desparate life in an oppressive country? MostlyAir pointed out, amazingly, only somewhat-faded sharpie markings numbering the fan blades of an engine...1, 2, 3, etc.

Jim Reichard spoke and from what Hoss mentioned, much of what he said was quite similar to what Bryan Bedford had said 16 days earlier. That 4/13 event was largely for the media / employees / local dignitaries, and this one was more for the business community, Best Care Business people and corporate travel people. Similar words to 4/13 but different audience, I guess.

Paraphrasing a couple of things...

--One Sabre platform by early November

--One FF program by fall, but some middling achievement by July...it was some wording like "By July the FF programs will be combined", and "by October there will be one FF program". Anybody else get what the distinction was?

--Cookies on all flights by later this summer (no word on WARM cookies, though)

--Fleet entirely repainted by mid-next year.

--By June, Frontier seat selection. What I suspect this means is that when you book on midwestairlines.com and get a F9 flight (like MSN-DEN or MKE-DEN-ABQ) you'll be able to select a seat on the Frontier flights. Does that mean that Frontier will offer free seat assignments across the board? I'm not positive that's what this means. But we'll see!

It was great to see Newsmanhoss again, and meet not only MostlyAir but surprise guest RSVP. The lovely Mrs. Newsmanhoss was spared the event, but Hoss brought a guest armed with a camera who probably got a whole lot of nice shots.

The badger was cool to see, and when you look close up you can definitely see comupter-generated handywork which went into the image. But unless you're looking for them and are right up close, you'd probably never notice.

Finally we received parting gifts of a new route map (which will go on my board at work), a stuffed Flip (the dolphin spokesanimal) and a blue Midwest tin of three cookies and a Frontier promotion card. You have to register and answer a few questions, and it seemed strange to say no, I have not flown Frontier, and no, I am not an Early Returns member. Dozens of times on Midwest in the last year, but not Frontier. Yet...!

Oh...and my promotional card is worth.....$10. Hey, it's $10!

The above post from Knope is spot on. Nice event. And I'll see if my friend can post the pictures somewhere for all to see. The aircraft did look pretty sharp, I must admit.

Thanks for the nice recaps knope and 'Hoss. It doesn't sound like either one of you drank all the free wine :D

I'm sure the crowd was a bit biased, but did you get a sense of how the name change and integration are going over?

LOL...I'm glad I'm not the only one who does stuff like that! Kind of worked out nicely to write independent accounts since you remembered things I did not.

For the most part, RSVP, MostlyAir, Hoss, his friend, and I talked to each other. But I thought the crowd reaction to the presentation was relaxed, cordial and receptive. No rip-roaring cheers or anything, but it did not seem skeptical or stone-faced.

Oh...and my promotional card is worth.....$10. Hey, it's $10!

There was also a random drawing for $500.00 worth of travel.

Unfortunately, neither myself, Hoss or Knope was the winner.

Thanks again, to Mostly Air for extending an invitation to all of us.

Nice 8" x 5.5" color picture of the badger on the front page of the Journal Sentinel business section today, with a smaller side picture of the event and aircraft.

Frontier Airlines unveiled an Embraer 190 aircraft at Mitchell International Airport on Thursday, bearing the airline's newest spokesanimal -- a badger. It's asking Wisconsin residents to come up with a name for it. You can offer suggestions online at frontiermidwest.com/namethebadger. The winner will be announced July 5. This month Republic Airways Holdings, the parent company of Frontier and Midwest Airlines, announced that it would scrap the Midwest brand and use the Frontier name as the public face of the merged airline group.

The small event picture doesn't show any people there, so I suspect it was taken either before the event or very early before most people arrived.

I took pic of the E190 at the gate today, I believe it was heading to DCA. Its not the closest or the best but it looked good sitting at the gate.
