This front-page article in the local newspaper reviews the dismal current state of eating and drinking options, and notes that a study will be made for future improvements. In mid-article, it's noted that the County Commissioners will review concession contracts, some of which have been in place for upwards of three decades:

Here in Sarasota our paper shows a city of origin
The SunSentinel seems to want to be from the entire
East coast (which is where you must be from)
Come on over and see the difference
(but don't tell your friends)

Re the nebulous names: It all started with the Miami Herald. Their newspapers sold outside of Miami-Dade County mysteriously carry the banner "THE HERALD" instead of "Miami Herald".
The Sun-Sentinel soon followed suit, dropping "Fort Lauderdale" from the banner, since they compete with the Palm Beach Post for the hearts and minds of Boca Raton readers. :)

Many thanks for the splanashun
Just thought I'd throw a poke
I often hear folks refer to "Boca" so I ask if they mean Boca Grande
You're still welcome to our fun coast anytime

The food selections at FLL are really miserable, probably the worst of any airport its size. The solutions will be difficult due to the configurations of the terminals. Definitely beyond the capabilities of the BCAA so we just can expect the status quo for the foreseeable future.
Just for grins I will mention that BCAA hired a consulting firm to tell them whether maybe what the SS said was correct and to suggest alternatives. I guess that we will soon see a ticket surcharge to pay for the consultants who may make suggestions that the BCAA is quite unlikely to implement.

..... yet.

One smart thing that they are doing is putting in a branch of The Brooklyn Water Bagel Company in JetBlue's Terminal at FLL.
I have had their bagels and for bagels that are made outside of NYC they are pretty good.
