I haven't seen much around these parts as to what type of perks Budget gives you for being a frequent renter.... do they give out any perks for those who rent frequently ?

Forgive my ignorance but the website doesn't list much of anything as to why one would through them frequent business -

If you sign up for Fastbreak, beyond expedited paperwork, I've received upgrades. Supposedly, u receive discounts on future rentals when using your assigned BCD #. Also via the small biz program, received a $10 off $50 or more purchase good at Office Depot. Whopp-di-do.

With all of the bonuses, I have rented a ton from Budget over the past year plus. I have Fastbreak but haven't noticed any upgrades. None.

The basic idea of budget, is as its name BUDGET rent a car , the prices are basically cheaper than their counterpart, Avis ,even without coupons but sometimes i'll get coupons for upgrades and dollars off in my email.
Before ill rent ill compare avis with their coupons and budget , sometimes avis will come out cheaper. ( example rented for a week in april full size for 159.83 after a 35 dollar coupon and my awd discount), but sometimes not

Thanks guys.... I appreciate the insight.

I do a lot of local p/u's and both Avis and Budget are close to my residence. Avis rates are pretty solid for me and they even let me pick out whatever vehicle I want for the price of my midsize booking. I don't rack up a lot of FF pts w/ Avis so I thought I'd stick my nose into Budget a bit more. I've never cared for their customer service at airports or local's, rep's always have a who gives a shi- attitude amongst them.

As to Budget.... anyone ever see any FF deals for their moving trucks ?

Nope, there are no stated benefits for exhibiting loyalty to Budget. Seems like a mistake to me because my only other option is Avis and theirs sucks. I know, I know, they're owned by the same parent company but the head of each Budget and Avis must think of ways to increase revenue and I would think a loyalty program would certainly be one of those ways.

They are finding a way to differentiate the products. If you want (generally) faster service, cars ready for you when you arrive, perks for renting more frequently, go with Avis. If you are looking to save money more than anything, go with Budget.

Almost 15 years using Budget, and the only real perks I see are at the local offices. When I use the same local (non-airport) office over and over, the counter agents greet me by name and upgrades are offered, or if I don't need something bigger or nicer, choice of car is offered. I've picked cars based on satellite radio, or based on trunk size, for instance.

At the airport locations, I never even see a counter agent. It's my name on a board with a location on the lot to choose my vehicle. Only once did I get an upgrade at the airport and that was because the section where my car should have been was empty. Back inside, I went to the counter where I was told to choose any car.

Emails give some discounts, but only a few times have the prices from the email codes been better than my 'rent more save more' rate.

If you are going to use airport locations, I would probably recommend a different company. If you have a local office, I would probably recommend Budget.

Its perfect for vacation renters. Not the frequent renter day in and day out for work. And that is the market which Budget targets. It costs nothing to join FastBreak and you get the special line and access able to start your vacation off without waiting in a rental car line. For example, the equivalent at Hertz requires $50.
