Although I regard myself a tough critique of Saudi Arabian Airlines (Waged wars on them through their customer relations department) , however, the new website is impressive and provides a lot of useful information and choices of flights. Will we see the giant Saudia of the old days?

I wasn't around in the old days and not sure what they were like. I can tell you they are average, the planes are OK and domestically they at least serve something. Of course they are not really on time with regularity and boarding and deboarding is always a problem because of the passengers in the ME don't understand manners.

I use this site somewhat often and not sure what new features you are referring to. It has been this way for quite some time as far as I can tell other than the seats left function. I guess also you can book up to 9 people now whereas before it was 7.

There seems to have been a subtle but significant redesign...

It finally gives me my mileage balance on the Al Fursan microsite!

And my full flight history too!

Gosh, it's like a real frequent flier program...

Oh and don't miss the interactive mileage map...

Manchester moved to Edinburgh
Brussels moved to Munich
Munich moved to Vienna
Vienna seems to be somewhere in the Ukraine

I've flown with them within the last year and was totally unimpressed. Tired and worn aircraft, treated passengers in economy like cattle, and no interest in customer service. They have no incentive to change and I am deeply skeptical of improvements.

I assume you have not flown on one of the refitted planes with the good IFE?

I actually think their choice of films is sometimes better than Emirates', now

I'd still prefer to fly Emirates though, if only because the miles and status are far more useful.

(Yes, I am probably going to renew my Al Fursan Gold for a third year. No, I still don't know what "First Class transportation to the plane" means.)
