Best Western Rewards - Getting Delta Miles

I thought I should post this question here, as I couldn't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere else!

I'm a Delta FF member, but not a Best Western one yet. I'm planning to book a BW hotel, but wondering if to get the miles credited to Delta, do I still need to sign up for a BW membership?

Has anyone gotten their FF miles at a BW hotel without showing any BW membership?

You need to sign up for a BW account, and set your preference for airline miles, Delta included, instead of hotel points. No big thing.

After you're enrolled in BW, try to upgrade the lowly BW status you'll be given to Diamond Elite with the Status Match promo.

Thanks for the tip! Will create the account and see if I can get matched, although I think I might not be eligible as the promo conditions say only US and Canada, and I live in the UK :(

If you get elite status, depending on the price of the hotel stay, you might be better off setting the award preference as BW points and transfering the point to Delta.

With BW I use Southwest as the partner. If the stay will be under $240 I chose southwest credits. Seeing you only get 1/2 credit per entire stay and you need 5,000 point for a full credit on SW, if the stay will be over $240 as a premium BW member you are better off chosing points and then moving them to Southwest when you need the credits.

BTW the ONLY benefit to being premium is the bonus points. If you are giong with airline miles I have never seen any benefit in being premium. I was told at the BW property I frequent a lot that my status with BW rewards doesn't mean much to them as much as I stay there and I will get upgraded just as fast as a lowly silver as I would a platnium.
