Alaska - Is it worth visiting Barrow in Dec?

Or would it be dark 24h?

the sun in Barrow is "down all day" in December. And the moon is down all day toward the beginning and end of the month. A pretty dark place (but on a clear night, maybe good chance for an aurora sighting).

Very dark, very cold and very little to do.

I went to Barrow "because it is there" a few Junes ago. Even in the daylight, 8 hours was quite enough. I cannot imagine it in December.

It is worth doing because it is there and december is certainly "there" with all dark all the time. make certain you can get out the same day!
