Okay, so on the surface, this is not a great MR but I just priced out the following itinerary on co.com and thought it was interesting

4/10 DCA-IAH 600A-810A 737-800 economy 1208 miles
4/10 IAH-DEN 850A-1017A 757-200 economy 876 miles

4/10 DEN-EWR 1230P-646P 757-200 first class (z) 1617 miles+ 150% bonus
4/10 EWR-IAD 720P-850P CR7 first class 216 miles+150% bonus on 500 mile minimums (operated by UA)

Based on the base miles, I come up with:

Total Trip Cost: $ 391.30
Actual Airfare: $ 350.00
Actual Miles Flown: 3917
Yield: $ 0.089 per mile
Taxes & Fees: $ 41.30, 10.55% of ticket price

Add in confirmed first class with the 150% bonus on the return and with the 500 mile minimum, I come up with:

Total Trip Cost: $ 391.30
Actual Airfare: $ 350.00
Actual Miles Flown: 5260
Yield: $ 0.067 per mile
Taxes & Fees: $ 41.30, 10.55% of ticket price

Again, may not be mileage run worthy but to have one leg in confirmed first class on the return (and a .06-.08 cpm) is a steal in my eyes

8192RDM if you count 100% bonus. 4.8c/RDM. Might be able to do better... The only reason this works is because the one-way DCA-IAH-DEN is like $69 + taxes. Wonder if there is another way to take advantage of that low fare...

Additional miles. IAH is my favorite connecting point between DEN and ORD on UA when flying to the east coast....both ways if possible.

Not bad. It's a B-Up fare WAS-DEN for $580 RT, confirms in F. Looks like you're combining that with a coach outbound.

Probably is a B up but the return books into Z class for confirmed first class......So, it essentially takes a seat out of F for the B-up folks causing a potential waitlist for availability.
