Hey guys,

We are looking for a good 6 week trip to do in July/August, 2011. We will probably be leaving around July 15th (just after my final - hopefully - CFA exam!).

I was thinking of flying into Panama City, and working north to Belize, returning to Canada. The other way around would work perfectly fine too. Trip would probably Be July 15 - Aug 31 (6 weeks).

My concern is the weather? Is it going to be terrible in all of the CA countries, and ruin our trip? I am just beginning my research, but have read that it definitely rains a lot in June/July.

If you think it is a bad idea, any other suggestions in the world for June/July. Our appeal to CA (and requirements for a destination) is the ocean/beaches, hot weather and cheap prices. We have done SE asia (cambodia/thai/laos/viet), so would like something a little different.

My experience is a little limited since I've only been to Panama in CA in August 2008. That said, what we were in both coasts, something not complicated in such a country.

I would say that you have not seen rain until you have been there. However, storms did not last more than one as a rule.

In the Caribbean (Bocas del Toro) we were told it was the best time of year to go to the beaches. In the Archipiélago de las Perlas, in the Pacific Ocean (I would not go back) it did not rain at all.
