Wyndham Rewards - Best use of 19k points?

I've had 19k points sitting around for a year from a single trip. I imagine it doesn't make much sense redeeming them for a free night because the rates are usually cheap enough to begin with. I also don't usually stay at Wyndham properties.

Am I crazy to trade all of these points for a $75 Amazon gift card or 7k Continental OnePass miles?

Will you visit NYC anytime soon? Wyndham's reward chart normally tops out at 16,000 points, which will get you a free night at the Ramada Plaza New Yorker or the Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown. Both usually retail between $150 and $200/night. For the remainder, you could get a restaurant.com GC for 2,200 points.

I primarily use Amex, and I know I would never ever redeem my Amex points for a gift card. I guess the Wyndham program has extremely less flexibility, so I will probably just take a poor redemption such as the 7k miles or $75 in gift cards. Just wondering if anyone had any better ideas. Thanks.

Smart^ (I'm amazed at how many crappy redemption ratios there are with AMEX but I guess if one uses it for business and has gobs of points, who cares)

I like to have misc points around in various programs for those off times where a cheap night can't be found (NYC example is a good one) so I'd probably keep them instead of a the two options you listed. Is there any area where an acceptable Wyndham property would work for you?

BUT if you really see no other chance to use the points, then I agree, get something for them.

Wyndham points expire 4 years after they're earned, so the OP still has about 3 years to reach a decision or keep the points in reserve.

If it were my call, I'd be tempted by the new Wyndham all-inclusive resort in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Right now they're asking 6,000 points/night against a website rate of >$350. A redemption rate of almost $60/1,000 points has to be a record, at least for this program!

Isla Mujeres redemption is a WOW, but otherwise I would grab the 7K miles, preferably during an airline's promo such as US Grand Slam or CO Mile Marathon, where the transfer will count as an Activity/ Hit!
