Luxury Hotels - Resorts in Egypt?

My dad has to be in Cairo in late May for work and I am tagging along for the trip as I always wanted to see Egypt. His company booked him at one of the FS hotels there, I think it is the one by the Nile. How is that hotel compared to other FS properties in the Middle East?
Also,
Since we are already going to be in Egypt my dad wanted to take a 3 night trip to one of the resort areas. I looked on line and saw Taba Heights and Sharm El Sheikh.
Which would be nicer in terms of relaxation and resort activities? I saw there was an FS and RC in Sharm and an IC in Taba Heights.
Any recommendations or advice on which city or property?
We would probably be flying or Taking a limo from Cairo and then back to Cairo to pick up the return leg of the WAS-Cairo-Was ticket being booked by my dad's office.
Thanks for all of your help
Ben

they took 2BR condos out of hotel inventory, but added some 4BR villas (expensive via hotel)

So it looks like Sharm is the place to go over Taba Heights?

Taba Heights is a dump. Sharm El Sheikh is the place, but only if you stay at FS Sharm. Do NOT even think of staying at the R-C, as it is one of the worst R-Cs ever.
The other option is flying to Hurghada and staying at the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh, which is a very civilised red sea resort - the only other red sea option after FS Sharm.
FS Nile Plaza is by far the best option in Cairo.

You can't take a limo to Sharm. It is a massive distance, blocked by the Red Sea. If you want something closer to Cairo, you could look into going to The Four Seasons in Alexandria.

Trouble is, Four Seasons Alexandria (which is also a flight away) is not on the beach. The main road runs between it and the beach.
They were going to build some villas on the beach and extend the resort facilities there, but this has yet to happen. I would not call this hotel a resort - not like Sharm at all.

.
The drive is within reach of Cairo... unlike Sharm. You don't have to fly.
A train is also possible, which can be interesting with a local tour guide, as the journey hugs the Nile Delta

FS Sharm it is.
Alexandria looks more of a city hotel than a resort and the lack of beach effects our decision.
We are flying from Cairo and back to Cairo and then spending a night by the Airport before our 5 35 AM LH flight to FRA and IAD.
It looks like the IC City Stars is where We will stay by the airport because of the RA benefits and access to the mall.
