When did the cost to upgrade to Signature default to a flat $25 fee, no matter the distance?

I don't know when they switched it over to $25, but I'm going to guess that we did it to keep it simple on the technology standpoint.

On somewhat of the same note it sounds like from the conference call that the E70s and CSeries will have stretch seating on them for the branded operation.

Any timeline on reconfiguring the E170's? Or is this something that would happen when the C Series get delivered in 5 years?

I don't believe a definite date was given but I am pretty sure they said by the end of summer. I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong:)

The upgrade fee change to $25 happened in the last week or so. Hadn't gotten around to posting about it yet. A $25 upgrade is more reasonable when it's just buying more legroom and first shot at inflight service. And it would be nightmareish to charge different upgrade fees based on getting an A319 verus an E190 with 1x2 versus and E190 with 2x2.

The descriptive name "Signature" is now obsolete, replaced by "STRETCH" on the YX booking engine.

Check off another item in the harmonization process of Midwest+Frontier.

Any thoughts as to what will be next?

Good catch. Interesting that on the YX site you can get Stretch seating on the E190's, but not on the A319's...which also have Stretch. I'm sure that will change a bit down the road.

I noticed this as well when I booked tickets to San Diego recently. Midwest allowed me to select seats in the "Stretch" area. There was no indication on the website that these were premium seats.

^ $25 per segment is exactly what my employer will pay for premium coach seating.

To keep everything equitable, let's hope harmonizing includes STRETCH seating at time of booking on the A319 also.

If you purchase tickets at www.frontierairlines.com you can purchase "classic" tickets which include free baggage and TV on Airbus flights. Even if some of the sectors are operated by Midwest E190's (booked as F9 codeshare) you can upgrade to Stretch seats for 15.00 per flight. Only at Frontier's website, though.

But booking on Frontier doesn't let you can use your FF miles on Delta, right?

Thanks for the reply...of course everyone thinks it's just a simple flip of the switch to make everything work, I suppose.

The YX booking engine blocks row one and the aisle seats of rows two, three, and four on the E170. Is this a recent change, or have these seats always been blocked?

IIRC those were always blocked.

I have a relative who booked MKE-PHX several months ago and was interested in STRETCH seating.

I advised him to call for an upgrade. Said he had a 10 minute phone wait, but was upgraded without problem at $25.00 each way.
