Hi!
I'll be in SVO in July, arriving early morning, having 14 hrs to kill.
I was wondering if there's an option like in other airports (i.e. SIN, INC) to take a sightseeing tour from the airport that will bring you back in time without being lost in MOWs subway system.
Has anybody here heard of anything like this? Can't find anything on the web though... Thanks for your help.
Cheers,

I'm not sure about organized tours -- in my limited dealings with SVO I didn't see anything that looked like tour buses -- but there are various people who can arrange a car and driver.
Last year, I had 36 hours in SVO as part of a somewhat longer vacation. I arrived at 7 or 8am, and was met by a driver, and then went straight to Vladimir and Suzdal, two of the closest Golden Ring cities, saw them, and was dropped off in my downtown MOW hotel around 6pm.
If you are arriving first thing in the morning, and want something different from MOW, 14 hours should be enough time to see them and possibly a third such city. I strongly recommend the Golden Ring -- only reason not to would be if you were intended to do a longer trip there in the future.

Thanks, I appreciate all tipps of people that have actually been there, always better than 2nd hand information... Don't know what the äGolden Ring' is yet - but will do some research :-)

As I know there is no such buses departure/arriving from Moscow airports (because of traffic jams and lack of demand I guess), unless specifically arranged in advance for a group of people.
There is a bus which travels from the center of Moscow:

You can take the train from SVO to Belorusskaya Train Station, then ~2km walk through the whole Tverskaya Str. (main street of Moscow) to the Kremlin, Red Square, St. Basil etc. and then catch this bus (e.g. at 1.30) near the Bolshoy which is nearby. I guess it is the optimal way for you to get as much Moscow as possible within 14 hours!
Good luck and beware of horrible traffic (however in July it should be better due to holiday season)! :)
