I am planning a family vacation from Portland to Vancouver trying to use as miles wherever possible to keep costs down. I'd especially like to apply the scraps of miles I have on United and Delta so I can save my larger balance on AA for the flight.

It looks like only Budget offers 1-way rentals and a drop off where I need one (Port Angeles, WA). Does anyone if it's possible to use miles on United and Delta for one-way rentals? The websites don't seem to offer 1-way and I called Delta but the agent had no idea.

If all else fails AA does seem to offer vouchers that can be used for a 1-way rental but I am nervous about forking over the miles for the voucher only to find out that Budget won't accept it for one-way.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I've only ever been able to use free rental rewards from National for free one way rentals. All the other companies seem to charge one way fees on top of the free rental. National's one way fee is included in the rental quote and thus free when the rental is free.

Anyway, that's been my experience.
