Hi everyone,
Need some help / advice with changing / cancelling the outbound portion of a reward flight.
I realise the obvious answer here is that we should have booked them as two singles, but that unfortunately didn't happen so we're stuck with this situation.
My wife and I have return first class reward flights booked LHR > SFO > LAS next month. My work might need me to go to Chicago for the few days before this trip and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work to take my wife with me and then fly on to Vegas.
My work would pay for me to fly out to ORD and I can see on ANA that some reward flights are also still available for my wife to fly with me.
Is it possible to modify a return reward booking to (a) change my wife's outbound leg to go to ORD and (b) cancel my outbound leg and get my miles+cash back (because my work will be paying for that bit)?
And if so, is it safe to make this kind of change? I have visions of the operator clicking the wrong button and my whole set of return flights being cancelled - and and reward availability not being there to re-book them!
Many thanks,
Richard
