Best Western Rewards - Do you usually need membership card at BWs?

I haven't stayed at one in awhile, but it seemed like the # never carried over from the reservation system to the hotels. Is this still the case? Or typically do the hotels properly have the #s now?

I book my reservations at bestwestern.com and my rewards number is in my profile. I have never had to show my card at the desk to get credit.

It is a good idea to ask at the desk if they have they have your rewards number, just to make sure.

If you do the reservation through the BW site, you do not need the card. The number will be there - according our very extensive domestic/international experiences.

We never make reservation through phone or through other travel sites, so I do not know what happens in those cases.

I've never needed it, though I carry it with me when I stay at Best Westerns just in case.

It was actually on the reservation printout at check-in. First time (but then it has been awhile since I've been to a BW).
