For reference:
I am a Royal Ambassador and booked this stay on the Friends and Family rate. Booked absolutely cheapest available room.

I emailed Amb services who clarified that none of my RA benifits should apply due to the rate :td:. Like most I figured that I would just see what the hotel would do, expecting nothing upon arrival.

I arranged transportation through the hotel for $50 (185 pesos). Greeted at the airport by a nice guy with the standard black IC sign with my name on it. He took care of our luggage and drove us to the IC in a Citroen C4. Nothing special but a nice sedan IMHO.
We arrived at the hotel at about 1130am, and were escorted to the front desk by the bell captain. From there we were escorted to the lounge where we were served drinks and quickly checked in. We were given an envelope which stated what we could expect for being RAs, and were given keys to a king bed room on the club level (:D). The letter stated that all benefits would be honored, including mini-bar.

To be honest, the first 10 minutes of my stay were amazing. The attention to detail was impressive and I haven't received such nice treatment in any other IC I have stayed at (admittedly, there are only 5 others for comparison).

The room had nice wooden floors with taller ceilings that really opened it up. the view from the 18th floor was amazing, but I noticed that the windows only had translucent drapes, nothing that would actually prevent anyone in the office tower next door from looking into the room. The bathroom was nice with marble counters and all that jazz, but what impressed me the the selection of "girly stuff". Personally, I'm not a big fan of bath salts but my girlfriend loved it.

The mini-bar was pretty light in terms of stuff that it was stocked with. 2 bottles of Chevas Regal and 2 bottles of vodka were about all the alcohol and it had 3 beers (2 local, 1 German). An apple juice, a couple of sodas and a single Red Bull finished it off. Not exactly the Amstel of mini-bars but hey, its free! Also, it was restocked daily.

Breakfast was nice with individual sized bowls of eggs, cereal, yogurt, and various things to drink. We weren't around to take advantage of the evening drinks but it was clearly offered for a couple of hours in the evening.

Overall the service was excellent and the room was very nice, especially for what we paid. We check back in in a couple of days and I will post a follow up to see how everything goes.
