Midwest Airlines Midwest Miles (Pre-Alignment) - Premier Pet Program put to sleep?

Info on carry-on dogs and the Premier Pet Program are nowhere to be found on the YX web site. The links are dead ends and take you back to the home page, noting a page error.

I do not recall hearing about their discontinuation; if gone, when did the changes occur?

If discontinued, why?

It appears that passengers now require a medical authorization form to bring their dog onboard Midwest and Frontier, effective Dec 2009.

Perhaps Midwest should officially announce that the Premier Pet Program no longer exists as it continues to get frequent mention in the media.

Every time I look at my Google news alerts for Midwest it's amazing to see how much interest this program still generates. It's generally positive (and free) publicity for the airline.

No pets in the cabin anymore on Midwest? I agree, the Premier Pet Program was very well publicized; every time I used to call reservations and was put on hold I remember the recording on the hold message promoting it.

If anyone wants to go to the dark side ;) AirTran allows small dogs, cats and birds as carry-on on all flights for a $69 fee. According to the SkyWest web site one pet per flight is allowed on the SkyWest codeshares out of MKE as well.

I believe that FL allows six pets as carry-ons, but does not accept checked pets. Six pets? That seems a bit extreme, even though I like animals. I believe YX allowed two per flight.

What a nuisance that is. I had a small rat type dog under the seat next to me in business class that was yapping during the entire boarding process.

Just what I wanted to listen to after a long day.
