Emirates Skywards - How to identify a flex or saver from travel agent?

I was looking and some tickets online and came across an agent who quoted some very good prices. Unfortunately it did not say if the ticket was flex or saver. I called the agent and they said it does not indicate if it is flex or saver. They can only see booking class which was T for all sectors.

They told me I would need to contact emirates for further information.

I called emirates who said that they are unable to check that fare because T class is a special travel agent specific booking class which they cannot quote. They did do a search on the same flights and dates and quoted a higher fare than the travel agent but they did say it was flex but it was L class.

Is there any way to find out if a ticket is flex or saver before purchasing a ticket from a travel agent?

Not sure how much difference there is in price but Emirates have a best price guarantee but you will need to look into the T&Cs as it might not help you http://emirates.com/uk/english/plan_book/emirates_best_price_guarantee/emirates_best_price_guarantee.aspx

Just noticed this point in the t&c. As the agent is offering T class and emirates do not offer this class on their website, the price guarantee will not apply.

The Third Party Fare must be for exactly the same itinerary as the Purchased Fare including, but not limited to, the same flight(s) numbers, same date(s), same class of travel, same booking class, same number of passengers and same fare conditions.

Also note that the fare guarantee does not apply to First or Business fares...

When the agent prices the ticket, this information will show in the endorsement line of the ticket. It will either contain SKYWARDS FLEX or SKYWARDS SAVER.

My bet is that most bucket shop tickets will be saver.

Strange, I looked up on Expertflyer and it is unable to find booking class T for that flight. K is the cheapest one.

I have found that agents are able to quote a cheaper ticket, but this usually means taking a saver fare. EK website was quoting £597 for BHX-DXB-DAC for a weekend departure (Flex fare) with a stopover in DXB, however managed to get this from the local agent for £525. Was pleased to find a cheaper price, saving circa 10% but wasn't too happy to find out after ticketing that it was a saver fare.

I was sitting with the agent when he was processing my itinery via the EK website. I think the fare was based on K class.

As quoted earlier wasn't too pleased that it turned out to be saver fare. Now I need to use 32.5k skywards miles instead of the usual 25k to upgrade the BHX-DXB leg
