Holiday Inn has their point break available for this hotel when I'm there for a few days.

Is this location ok; I'd like to do some site-seeing, etc.

Excelent location for the HI Express WTC. It is in a central location in Mexico City just a block from Avenida de los Insurgentes. From here, you are close to the Soho district (Condesa and Roma Norte) and also you can get easily to Reforma Centro Avenue (where Antropología Museum is and the street that takes you to Centro Historico´s Zocalo and National Palace), by taking a cab or bus through Av de los Insurgentes. If you ask me, take it and go visit Mexico City. I used to live close to the WTC when I was a kid, and being raced in Mexico City, I can tell you it is in a safe location, with restaurants close to the hotel, including cafeterias like Starbucks and plenty of nice restaurants and also fast food chains. It is also close to "Viaducto" which takes you all the way to Mexico City Airport.

I, too, think it's a good neighborhood. Though not convient to the Metro system, there is the Metro Bus on Avenida Insurgentes which will get you to a Metro rail station at which you'll find trains (principally the subway) to take you throughout the city. It's a neighborhood that you'll not have to leave at night to enjoy yourself and it's considered relatively safe, in comparison, say, to Centro Historico. Avenida Insurgentes is lined with restaurants, bars and stores of all varieties.

You have many things to do around the hotel. Museums, you have a nice park close to the area, best area for restaurants and so on.

Could you perhaps elaborate on that? What is the 'Viaducto' and how far is the station/stop from the hotel? Can I arrive at MEX airport around 8pm and get there by 'Viaducto' and then reach the hotel safely?

Viaducto Miguel Aleman is an expressway which cuts through the city and you can get to your hotel from the airport in a taxi that'll speed the trip by using that "Viaducto" expressway. Taxi fares from the airport are set-price, depending upon distance and there is a "zone" map next to the counter where you pre-pay your taxi trip. I haven't made the same exact trip by taxi, but I'm thinking the fare will be in the range of the peso equivalent of US$20.

Actually the lowest fixed fares from MEX airport to the hotel is around 165-172 Pesos, which at current exchange rates is about 14 American Pesos. If you arrive on Mexicana, Yellow Cab offers a 20% discount, bringing the fare down to about US$11!

Thanks for the updated fare information.

Regarding your comment mentioning "Yellow Cab":

The company/collective "Sitio 300" has, for years, had one of the exclusive on-site airport taxi service concessions in Mexico City. A little over a year ago the company/collective renamed and repainted all of its rolling stock to a yellow color and assumed the name "Yello Cab." Visiting Mexico City about the time of the change, and noticing it, I asked a group of drivers (when I was waiting to enter one of the taxi's to take me to my hotel) about the name change and they asked me, almost in unison, what "Yellow Cab" meant. Nobody had explained to them what the meaning was, what the history was, why there was a change, etc. It strikes me as odd that the name would be used - the English version - in the largest Spanish-speaking city in the World. But Mexico's a place where many things that don't seem to make sense are found.
