Thank you very much robbert Feb 3, 10, 4:46 pm If you pose your question here I'm sure several people will jump on it just for the sport of it and/or to hone their skills. What exactly are you looking for? AussieTrip12345 Feb 3, 10, 4:51 pm Thank you. I'd like to travel from NYC to Sydney anytime in mid-june to mid-july with flexibility to come home from auckland, or fly into san francisco or out of. I have 280K amex points and would like two (2) business/first if possible? hopscotch1 Feb 3, 10, 5:30 pm There are some other guys out there that "book your award". I have used this type of service and have been very satisfied. The T&Cs of flyertalk say not to promote commercial endeavors, so I don't want to say anything further. But, if you do some searching you will be able to find a "book your award" service. pjoalfa Feb 3, 10, 6:15 pm oops- deleted per above post. just "search" :) dayone Feb 3, 10, 6:35 pm There are some other guys out there that "book your award". I doubt that a PM to the OP regarding your personal experience risks any violation. hopscotch1 Feb 3, 10, 6:52 pm PM sent. I also wanted to post an answer for those lurkers out there. I was once a lurker, and I got so much good stuff I just had to start posting. gleff Feb 3, 10, 7:25 pm I don't think there's any problem in letting folks know that, yes, these services do exist. Randy Petersen used to run AwardPlanner, and he's sort of resurrected it -- his MileageManager miles tracking tool (modest fee) incorporates an award search tool. And they also offer a premium service where they'll work with you one-on-one to put together an award. A prominent Flyertalk member works with Randy on this: lucky9876coins. I also have my own service, BookYourAward.com, where you can read all about what I'll do to be of assistance. These services are great for folks who aren't yet expert, or who have more miles than time. For those interested in do it yourself, you can learn everything you need to know here on Flyertalk and many in the community will pitch in to help in the teaching. And even with my own service, I stll give away much information and help people as much as I can. I only charge when I soup-to-nuts put together a trip, and then I usually get on the phone with the airline and handle issuing tickets. Best, Gary |
