Hello!

i have some AA miles and want convert it to BA miles via diners club club rewards, but cannot get how to join this programm? it seems this option only for US resident only %(((
so i thought that DC is international card as they love to write everywhere, and went to the bank to issue a card what costs me 150$ (i'm from Moscow, Russia). so if i cannot convert my miles - it seems that i just gave my money to someone for nothing, because DC russia has no option for convertation miles from one programm to another, also they proudly says that i can convert dc points to SU miles, the rate is 1.67$ for 1 mile %((

it is very-very sad situation, can u advice me what to do?

Actually, US residents can not get a Diners Club card right now unless their company has a corporate arrangement with them. Diners Club is a brand that is franchised to different banks in different countries, and the product offered in different countries varies, so you need to see what is offered in your country, which you can do here (http://www.dinersclubinternational.com/local-sites.html).

Why do you want to convert AA miles to BA? Except for transatlantic flights, you can redeem AA miles for BA flights (and vice versa). And you'd lose about half the mileage in an AA->DC->BA transfer. And BA tends to need more more miles for the same flights in some cases than AA does. And with BA you often pay higher fuel surcharges than with AA. So for all these reasons, it is often much more valuable to keep the miles as AA miles, even if you want to fly BA or other OW members only, than to transfer to BA.

as i know i cannot redeem miles for just 1 return trip by WW partner. they write:

Valid: All eleven oneworld carriers may be used on one award as long as the mileage and segment maximum is not exceeded (see distance range). Travel must include at least two oneworld partners other than American Airlines, American Eagle® or AmericanConnection®, and may not exceed 16 segments. The number of miles redeemed varies depending on the distance and class of service traveled. To determine the award for your travel plans, please call AAdvantage Reservations with your complete itinerary, and one of our helpful service representatives will calculate the miles you are flying and advise you of the correct award to use.

but if i want just lan flight scl-ipc-scl i need to book + 1 flights by different partner, but nobody in WW have flight to scl exept lan %((.

You're getting confused. That's just one type of award. It's one of the OneWorld award types, I forget which.

But AA has all sorts of different awards types and not all of them have this restriction. THeir All Airlines awards (which has to do with which airlines are partners of AA, not just which ones are OW) doesn't have a "two oneworld partners' requriement*, and uses a different award chart:

http://www.aa.com/i18n/disclaimers/aadvantageAllPartnerChart.jsp

*This type of award not only doesn't require two oneworld partners, it doesn't require any oneworld partners. For example, it can be solely on Air Tahiti Nui, or Alaska Airlines, or any of the non-oneworld partners that AA has. But it can also be on a single oneworld partner, like BA.
