I just booked this for a long weekend in april.
Works out to be approximately 30490 Aeroplan miles, once you factor in Elite 50% bonus, with a cost of approximately CAD$0.04/mile
Good Deal? what do you guys think?

I thought this was a FABULOUS deal until I realized that the "C" was not business class but for Canadian dollars!

oops, I've edited the post :)
Looks like it is booking into L class. That's 100% EQM/RDM earning on CO, too, though no elite bonus. That's up over 5cpm. On AC or UA one can also get the elite bonus which brings it down a bit, but still higher than I'd bite at.

I'd still put the fare basis in the title of the thread. My heart skipped a beat when I saw it.
LOL I was ready to jump all over this. I'm going to explore the Tango upgradable.

funny enough, if you add a return leg to Toronto after returning to New York, it only raises the price $10, because of a lower fuel surcharge!
Also only C$1265
if you book YYZ-NYC-YYZ-SYD-YYZ-NYC, you can book the last leg the next day in case you change your mind about going back to NYC

I tried editing the subject line but it's not working for some reason.

Once you've posted a new thread, you'll need to use the 'Report Bad Post' aka the "!" button, to request editing of the thread (to update the title).
[I noticed your post and updated it as you can see. Just RBP to request any further updates as required. :)]

I've calculated today's forex to get this into USD, so that nobody else gets overexcited at seeing C in the title. :)
Please post all fare deals in USD (xe.com is quick and useful for conversion) so that fares are more easily scanned & compared, with less chance for confusing C or A for booking classes. :)
Cheers,

Annyone able to add a NZ destination into the fare, post SYD? If you can, you really should do it if you have time. I'd recomend ZQN if you only have a short amount of time and want to maximise your 'wow' factor. :)
Is this a sale fare?
Thanks,

Don't forget that we CO people get stiffed on all but the TPAC segment.

Why's that? According to the CO chart it is only on Tango fares that you get stiffed. L is a T+ fare so you would get full miles for all segments.

My fault. I thought AC stiffed CO on nearly everything in the back cabin.

Nope, just the cheap ones. And while this fare is inexpensive (or passes reasonably for such) it isn't a "cheap" one on the CO earnings chart for AC metal. But, as noted, not elite bonus at all. That's enough for me to not give it a second look.

also its cheaper to do the same flight on UA..;)
For AC people there is a "chance" at upgrades if they have the right upgrade certs. However Elites [gold} only get TWO in a year :(
Sorry there certs can only be used by the AC flyer no trading.

Actually, UA works out to be $1374 USD/person which is around $250 more than what I've paid :D
