Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - SJC to BUR
OK...I'm trying to book a one way ticket SJC to BUR for late March. When I go to the website and put in my date I'm not given the SJC-SEA-BUR option. The website says 'Results by Price not available, this shows results by schedule'. Then it gives me a SJC-SMF on AS, SMF-SLC-BUR on DL. No option for a straight SJC-SEA-BUR.
I CAN book a multi-city same day trip SJC-SEA then SEA-BUR. If I do this will my bags just follow me or will I have to pick them up in baggage claim and go back through security?
I tried the same trip on Orbitz and was given the straight SJC-BUR option on the same AS flights I have to book on the AS website as a multi-city same day trip.
Thoughts?

Use the multi-city option to construct a SJC-SEA-BUR itinerary.
That is the only strategy I can think of off of the top of my head.

SJC-SEA-BUR will take longer than driving and it's probably sum of 2 airfares. Mileage run on company dime?

Correct- this will work... just make sure they are tagged properly before saying goodbye :p
Sometimes need to do multi city to force legit routings (alaskaair.com displays only so much :( - wish there was an option for FT'ers :D) such as ANC-SEA-LAX-DCA, or KOA-OAK-SEA-LAX-DCA :p

Not quite:) I have to be in BUR on a Friday for a work conference that lasts until Tuesday noon...then I have to go directly to PDX Tuesday night for work early Wednesday morning...so driving won't work. I stay in PDX until Friday...then fly home to SJC. Since I'll be gone a week...the boss has given me permission to 'do what it takes' to make me happy!!
My only other option is flying WN SJC/BUR then doing the rest on AS...but I really don't like WN. As the trip gets closer I'll probably call and see what I can get!

Heck Yeah! Those are all legitimate routings as far as I'm concerned! ^

Either SJC-LAX on AA or UA, or SFO-BUR on UA would probably be more practical. Of course you could always take WN SJC-BUR.
AS actually publishes a fare SJC-BUR for $1,278+ in Y RT. :D
