Copenhagen has some great places to eat Smoresbord but they traditionally are open only for lunch. Does anyone know of any restaurants that serve this for dinner?

That place has been there forever - I remember eating there in 1972! Audrey dk_commuter Jan 25, 10, 5:33 pm I am a Danish citizen and I very much enjoy Smørrebrød :) While I don't know exactly which restaurant is serving the open faced sandwiches for dinner, I will however recommend these restaurants: www.toldogsnaps.dk/ www.restaurantschonnemann.dk/ www.aamanns.dk/ (this is actually two places: a lunch "smørrebrød" restaurant and a dinner restaurant serving excellent food. The chef has worked at Michelin restaurants and I highly recommend the dinner restaurant - even though it is not smørrebrød. The lunch restaurant serves new interpretations of smørrebrød.) www.kanalcafeen.dk www.tivolihallen.dk - all of the above are good places - it can't be all bad.. www.cafesorgenfri.dk (average imho- choose above places first) And... please avoid this restaurant. 20 years ago, itmay have been nice but right now it is merely tourist a trap: www.idadavidsen.dk Diplomatico Jan 26, 10, 7:48 pm I never quite understood the concept of eating several consecutive half sandwiches. Don't get me wrong, they were good, but why not just eat a whole one? (And don't get me started on the cost to eat and drink in CPH, ;)). cph_flyer Jan 27, 10, 1:18 am I never quite understood the concept of eating several consecutive half sandwiches. Thats simply because , you have a better excuse to toast in schnapps multiple times , when you are having several consecutive half sandwiches ;) dk_commuter Feb 5, 10, 7:47 am (And don't get me started on the cost to eat and drink in CPH, ;)). The good part is that us Danes can go to Tokyo and say "wow, it's cheap!" :D maltasr Feb 6, 10, 2:16 am Our family dined there in 1982 and it was quite satisfying. It was also convenient as we were ravenous before boarding the train for Cologne. I do remember the food being arranged in such a manner that it was pleasing to the eye. No complaints...but that was a LONG time ago. |
