I did a lot of research and finally booked this hotel in Barcelona - ABaC. The hotel was formally a US consulate and they really redo a lot of work and upgrade it to this wonderful place that me and my girlfriend enjoyed.
The hotel is quite small, there are only 15 rooms and they got a lot of services. We drove there so transportation wasn't an issue, they have a park lot underneath the hotel and they got a big metal gate and the hotel feels really safe.
I like the hotel because it is not completely in a tourist area, it is low profile but luxe, not on those busy street that you hear people honking and talking, which makes it a good location to relax I think.
The staff was so helpful and they are very nice. The room was so big and we could go on talking about it forever.
First of all, they got this Spa that no one uses at all. They got those Mango juice and other fruit juice there for you to grab and I tried a few of them, they are really good and they are not cheap on that. In the spa room, there was this steam room that you could get yourself a nice steam, and they have an indoor pool and a hot pool with bed in there, you could lay there and relax there for a few hours too. They got a hot stone bed which you could relax too after a hot soak. I have never seen anything like this before except is this best resort in Taiwan. Since no one was there, we kind of when there naked and no one seems to "care". The steam room also have some starlights on the ceiling, and trust me I go there almost everyday because it is so welcoming and I got to enjoy the whole spa by myself and the juice/ tea collection too.
Back to the room, which is also very stunning. The windows are gigantic and you get a lot of light and you could look though outside no problem. They have people coming to do the sundown service and shut the blinds for you when you are out. It is minor but every time they come and fix the room, they leave 2 bars of chocolates which I found myself enjoy very much, you really need to try and keep their chocolate as well.
The bath tab was big and they got those mood lights that changes color and the bath was so relaxing, I spent an hour in there just bath and not do much. They uses Hermes bath oil and other bathing supplies that was so gentle to skin and it smells nice! They are seriously not cheap on little things like that.
I have to admit I still have their Hermes stuff with me now and I strongly recommend the body wash.
The hotel is completely clean and spotless and the room itself would keep you so busy with bathing, people watching from the room, to going to the spa and steam room and enjoy the facilities.
They got security camera everywhere. I really feel safe. Barcelona is not a ghetto place but I like how thick the doors are and you need access to the elevator and the hotel gate as well.
We went to their restaurants which is highly rated and a lot of people go there for lunch and dinner and so did we. The restaurant looks like they are busy and booked up all the time. They have really good chop and the servers were very professional, they took time to explain the menu for us and the food was great, that's why we spent 3 meals there. It is not cheap, but if you want good meals, you should totally go there. There is no dress code, just smart casual would do.
We also high tea there too at the hotel outdoor garden, it was a bit chilly because of the weather. Anyways everything that they use was from Versace, like the cup, dashes and plates and that was quite interesting.
That was one of the most remarkable hotel stay experience that I shared with my girlfriend and we both love it because of the Spa/ steam room, the small hotel size that makes every guest feels attended and comfortable, and the little details like the chocolate, Hermes shower gel to the sundown service and the security camera. The hotel is not hard to find and you can't tell it is a hotel from looking outside as well. We would definitely stay there again if we are in Barcelona again.
