Avis - Does the first letter of the AWD code mean anything?

Just curious - searched & was surprised to not find the answer.

I've wondered the same thing. No logic from what I can see -- maybe the cost center the discount charges against. For a while I thought the 'A' prefix was a non-for-profit (gov, mil, academic) classification. That's the only guess I've had.
