Anyone visiting Buenos Aires should take these enjoyable walking tours around the city. This is a great little enterprise run by some young Portenos who show you around both the historical areas of the city (morning tour) and the rich architectural districts (evening tour). Each takes about 2 hours, and the walk is enlivened by interesting, fun commentary about Argentina, as well as great suggestions for places to visit, street fairs, etc. The owners are a brother and sister who have worked as ski instructors at Tahoe, and you can tell they really enjoy doing the tours. Much better than many of the paid tours I've taken in many places.

I really enjoyed those free tours too. Of course you should tip them at the end.

yeh they look cool... sometimes its fun to do organised walking tours though as you get to meet other people doing them and the guides are definitely knowledgeable and bilingual. There are lots of routes and companies to choose from online, my favourite areas for exploring are the southern areas... but suppose each to their own!

Thanks for this link - I am a big fan of walking tours especially when I am visiting a city solo, and will take one for the FT team :) and try out both of their tours in a couple of weeks.

Spot on Doc Savage, they are great tours. I took both, the morning tour with the brother, and the afternoon tour with the sister. You get to see the many things and meet other tourists as well. Just take them and enjoy. A nice gratuity at the end is the way to go..

Sounds great! Wish Gaston and Sol the best for me. You will have a great time.

Glad you had a great time. And yes, a gratuity will allow them to keep doing this...

I don't think so... I think they are just young entrepreneurs. You should visit them for a tour some day! You would probably enjoy it even though you have lived there for many years.
