What's a little contempt of Congress charge? Her entire agency shows contempt for the people and the Constitution they've sworn to protect. If we just understood what it is like dealing with security breaches, surly/incompetent employees, stupid passengers, terrorists bent on destroying our way of life, we would then know that she's doing her best against the overwhelming tide of criticism, ridicule, scorn, sabotage, etc.:rolleyes::(:(

Either someone has her on a short leash or she is leading from behind which seems to be the current form of leadership by today's overpaid public servants.

Back when I was on AD, a Senate Committee mandated a certain report be prepared and delivered by a date certain. It was only produced - two years late - when the Senate threatened to hold up our budget.

That wasn't my point. Departments and Agencies frequently ignore Congress, and most of the time, they get away with it.

Chairman Thompson Opening Remarks
TSA complied with the previous request from Congress on providing information/reports
TSA provided testimony surrounding the 14DEC2009 incident
TSA provided briefings and SOP document review as requested
Floor yielded to Representative King's (R-NY) Opening Remarks
The current resolution is unnecessary due to TSA compliance with prior request; however, the time is being wasted since TSA did not comply in a timely manner
Upset about TSA stonewalling tactics and the requirement for multiple resolutions to bring information before Congress
Floor yielded to Representative Dent's (R-PA) Opening Remarks
Expressed disappointment about having to require a Congressional Resolution in order to pry information from TSA
Expressed extreme displeasure at Gale's implication that Congress could not be trusted and would leak information
Stated that Section 14 of Title 49 specifically prohibits the TSA stonewalling tactics in reporting to Congress
Compared DHS/TSA to intel agencies - intel trusts Congress and does not require useless "training sessions" prior to allow Congress to see information required
Rebuked TSA for replying late to the prior resolution
Stated that TSA continual withholding of documents is a concern
Floor yielded back to the Chairman, attempted to call the question, interjection from Representative Jackson-Lee (D-TX)
Floor yielded to Representative Jackson-Lee's Opening Remarks
Commended TSA for their responsiveness to Congress
Lauded Gale, specifically, for her actions in the response
Stated that TSA needs to move quicker when responding to Congressional inquiries and submitting reports
Wants DHS fully staffed at all costs (grave threat to the "Homeland")
Expressed extreme displeasure in Souther's stepping down; offended by the "hostile and bullish" actions of Senator DeMint (R-SC) and rebuked the Senator in her commentary
Point of order (parliamentary) called by Representative King
King stated that he thought the rules prohibited the House/Senate from making disparaging comments in an official meeting
Thompson stated that it was Jackson-Lee's time on the floor
King called specifically for a parliamentary ruling
Parliamentarian (off microphone) stated that rules prohibit Jackson-Lee remarks (reported by Chairman Thompson)
Thompson issued a verbal rebuke to Jackson-Lee

I do not know the TSA/DHS folks pictures well enough to guess from the video. All we could see was backs of heads (two women and one man, if I recall correctly).

If I am reading this right, Lee is in the tank for the TSA.Pretty much so and she is the head of the subcommittee with oversight over the TSA, which explains why we have some of these issues with the TSA.
She represents part of Houston, but she will have a credible opponent in the primary in March for the first time, so there is an outside chance we may see a change.

Not as likely as you'd think. I live in a district that is so blue that the GOP doesn't even bother fielding a candidate ... nobody wants to be the sacrificial lamb every two years. Even with an anti-incumbency mood, it ain't gonna happen.

I would have thought the same about Mass. and Kennedy's old seat.
So does anybody know how many days the TSA has before the funk falls on them for not giving up the SOP?

I think there is a strong chance this time around for all incumbents to lose.A Republican doesn't stand a chance in her district. It is the primary where the seat will be decided. She knocked off an incumbent in 1994. To show you how bad that seat is, after losing the primary, that incumbent never went back to Washington, but still drew his salary. So that district was effectively not represented for over 3/4 of a year.
You can catch the recorded hearing at the above link.

She was so bad with her attitude that Continental banned her from flying on CO's planes. And she not only is head of the TSA subcommittee, but CO's headquarters is in her district. So you know that it must have been bad for CO to decide to do that.
