Virgin America Elevate - Any way to tell if VX916 and VX917 operated by same plane?

I'm doing something very foolish in a few weeks.

It would be useful to know whether SFO-LAS-SFO VX916/7 are operated by the same plane?

If not, I'm screwed... potentially. But at least I'll have fun doing it.

Nope. VX doesn't even know until that day (and potentially that hour, if there are delays!).

However, you have much in your favor. The only two cities that fly into LAS are SFO and JFK, so as long as there wasn't a previous maintenance situation that caused a plane to stick around in LAS, it will be either 916's plane or the plane from JFK. The JFK plane comes in much earlier.

cool... now this is absolutely my last resort and I would want to avoid considering it unless there are major disruptions but:

can I convince them (if need be) to skip SFO-LAS and LAS-SFO as the two flights are part of two separate trips connecting to each other, both booked on points as award travel?

916 always operates 917, unless there is a major abnormality going on on that particular day.
