I just had the worst rental car experience in my life. Anyone know a Marketing or Service executive (by name) at National?

Call the Emerald club number on the back of your card and ask for customer service. The path for complaints will vary - especially if the location is franchisee vs. company owned.

I had one issue in all my rentals and found that a manager at the renting location was able to resolve it to my satisfaction on the first call. care to share your story?

Agree. Call the manager first. If he/she cant help or fix your issue, ask to speak to the regional group manager for that region. You dont mention what city you had a problem in otherwise I'd be happy to PM you with the person to speak with if the manager cant help.

Best is to deal with the duty manager upon returning the car, otherwise it's harder to address later on.

^^ What he said! I usually talk to the duty manager, usually resolved. Tho some horrible locations (like Jacksonville) they don't care. For a few REALLY bad rentals I've contacted customer service when the site can't resolve it. I usually ask for a free day, usually works.

I save the complaints for really bad ones, in my 170 days in the last two years I've done it twice.
