What is the best Best Western hotel in the world?
I've stayed at Best Western Artdeco in Rome and it was really nice with good service. Like a Hilton hotel.
But my question is... is there a really great Best Western out there?

The Best Western Premier properties are a cut above the run-of-the-mill ones, but I've never seen a true luxury hotel with a Best Western sign. If there is such a thing, it most assuredly is not in the US.

If i remember correctly, there is one in helsinki that is an old prison. It is all very recently remodeled, had a 46" plasma screen, free internet, confortable beds, etc. Its still a best western, but i'd say it was a cut above most of the other similarily priced hotels in the area.

I stayed at one in Madrid that was really nice. It had a museum type feel to it in the lobby.
While far from luxurious the hawthorne terrace in chicago is really nice if you can get a suite in the annex next door. They bought an adjacent property next to their hotel and kept the first floor retail, but gutted the 2nd to 4th floors and made them into apartment type suites. Nicer than residence inns and homewood suites and they have hardwood floors.

Best Western Aproador Inn on Ipanema beach in Rio, wonderful location overhanging the beach if you get a seaview room
