Hello Everybody

Last december planning a trip to Moscow I decided to book a room at this hotel. I made a search and found nothing against it (silly me). I was taking a plane at 7:10 am at Sheremetyevo and thought that it would be better to stay near the airport.

I arrived at around 8 pm to the lobby and noticed that a party was going on in the Atrium of the hotel. What can I tell you about the party, 200 people eating and drinking while a band was playing live. For those not familiar with these hotel, please check the link below to see how most of the rooms and floors are organized surrounding the atrium:

I asked about it at check-in and the girl who was there told me that it was some company´s christmas party. I asked about the upgrade (PC Platinum) and she confirmed, but later I told her that taking a plane early in the morning I would appreciate to be alocated as far as possible from the party.

She gave me a room in the fourth floor which was in a corridor not directly seeing the atrium. Still the noise was too much and after half an hour I phoned the front desk to ask if they knew about the ending time of the party. They told me that it "should" be 11 pm (it was 10:30 then) but that it could be 12 or even later, so I asked for another room even further. I was given the last room in the corridor, but still i had to use earplugs to get some sleep.

In the morning I was asked about the room changes and I explained my reasons. I have already sent a complain to IHG and awaiting for news.

This is just the biggest disappointment of this hotel but not the only one:

First shuttle to airport starts at 11 am and last from airport at 7pm. You may get much more value for your money if you stay at the Novotel or even (if you don´t have an early morning flight) staying in Moscow and taking the new Aeroexpress from Beloruski Station which will take you from Moskow center to airport (SVO) in 30 minutes for as little as 250 rubles.

Sorry for the rant.

Well, I know parties happen in lot of different IC properties and yes, it is loud, and yes, you cannot usually get to sleep after very late but people that organised the party probably paid preety penny...what I am saying, it could have been HI X or Y or Z, and you would probably still have bad experience...you should have gone and joined the party...
