This is a newly opened HI in the Lake Forest, South Irvine area in California. I have to say I was pleasantly suprised when I checked in. This is the first stay with a new company I've gone to work for and I wasn't sure what their travel agent was going to book.

The property is a 5 stories with underground parking and its right off of the I-5. This is the first brand new HI I've stayed at so I'm not sure if they're all this nice but the fit and decor remind me more of a Starwood property than anything else. Its lots of dark browns and light pastels with paterned wall paper and carpets. The lobby has a restaurant and bar with TV's at the bar and in each booth.

I was given a Priority Club gift at check-in and I'm only a club member and haven't really risen much above that in the last 5 years. It was a water bottle and pretzels in a nice little bag.

The rooms are spacious and everything is new. There is a 32in LCD and their WIFI is free. The king has a sitting chair and foot stool in addition to the desk and it's chair.

My impressions so far are this property is top notch. I don't stay with many Priority Club properties during the year and this is actually my only for 2009, and I was very impressed. If PC gave free breakfast at its top levels at HI's, IC's and CP's I would definately think of swapping some of my HH business.

Happy Travels!

I am currently staying at this property right now from a Priceline win and it's excellent (not just because of the price I got it at). It's certainly not your typical Holiday Inn. The free underground parking is definitely a huge plus as well as the wifi. The decor is modern and very attractive. There is no doubt in my mind that this property is at least in the top 3-5% of Holiday Inns in terms of overall quality. I sure hope management keeps the property in good upkeep for years to come.
