Hi,

I need info about Kosher places to eat in Paris. I am staying at the Le Méridien Montparnasse (Paris 6) and need breakfast and then a late lunch (3pm).

I have meetings in the Chatillon area (Paris 14) so lunch would be good there too.

thanks for any advice

Hello,

Here's a relatively recent thread that may give you some ideas:

Kosher restaurants in Paris (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/france/964852-kosher-restaurant-paris.html)

Check the Consistoire website for restaurants supervised by Paris beth Din. Go under "cacherout" then "les commerce". Plus in Paris for "par Ville".

The last 2 digits of the postal code (750XX) correspond to arrondisement. Though both 6eme and 14eme are on the Left Bank, and I think you'll have more choices of kosher restaurants on the Right Bank.

Les Ailes used to offer excellent prepaid shabbat dinners/lunches on Rue Richer in Paris.

Now they seem to have moved and have some sort of association (?) with a restaurant Le Refael in the 17th Arrondissement, serving a identical-looking menu to what we had last visit at Les Ailes itself.

The problem is, the 17th Arrondissement is a long walk from where we're staying.

Closer to the centre of town, there's the Bethel synagogue which serves prepaid shabbat meals. Their website, however, is not promising. It has no descriptions or menus telling you about what the food actually is, and only mentions the kashrut of the meat and bug-free salads (!!):

Has anyone eaten at the Bethel synagogue? What kind of food do they serve and is the food good there? Is it as good as Les Ailes?

Anyone have any suggestions for coffee shops/sidewalk cafes preferably in 01 district, but anywhere in the city really? Just for like fresh rolls, coffee, danish, etc.

Good question, thanks for asking. I too am looking for a specific good breakfast place as well as a fast food meat for lunch/dinner. I was told that on Rue des Rosiers in the 4th district there are kosher bakeries, though I have not heard of any specific. I would like a place for pancakes bagels omelets etc.

In the old Jewish Quarter, while not a "McDonald's" type of fast food, these are rapid turnover restaurants with excellent "to-go" menus.

Parve, Fleish Chalvi, and of course bakeries to die for.

Firstly, 9eme is close to 1ere, I'd say only about 15-20min walk.
Korcarz on Rue des Rosiers on 4eme has a side area where you can sit down.

I would have recommended Baan Hai on 1eme but I heard they closed down.
There's Casa Rina but i thought they're dairy. There's also one or two small sushi place, I'll post if I can remember the names.

Excellent thanks so much I checked out Korcarz and it seems like a perfect breakfast place. The sushi place your talking about I believe is Sushi West.
